I must say, I was pumped when I saw that there was a new Kuru Toga pencil. It has the same body as the other plastic version except the internal components are updated. The new Kuru Toga Engine is MUCH more effective. I have been using these pencils for years and although they do rotate the lead, they mechanism lacked consistency. I would find myself still having to manually rotate the pencil or adjust my grip so the mechanisms engaged properly. This new version is much more effective and I have not needed to adjust my grip or rotate the pencil to get the mechanisms to work properly. It just does! Also, the guide pipe retracts when you are writing so you don't have to extend the lead out as frequently. That function also protects the lead from breaking. Seriously impressed by this pencil. I hope the make an updated version of the Roulette with this mechanism. You can clearly see the difference between the new mechanism and the one from the Roulette. The new Kuru Toga Engine looks to be more robust.
