I was so confused after reading all of the reviews for this mattress cover that I had to come back and leave a review that recognized all the contrary opinions on it. The cover arrives VERY small because it is vacuum sealed. It also comes directly from China. However, I opened the package and left it on the sofa overnight when I first received it, after which it was still fairly flat. Remembering one of the reviews, the next morning I put it in the dryer for about 30 minutes and sure enough, it puffed right up. If you're looking for a mattress topper, this isn't it, it's a mattress pad with a bit of fluff to it--but I wasn't looking for anything to make my son's bed more comfortable, it's a sleep number bed, I just wanted something to protect the mattress that didn't make him hot to sleep on and that could be easily thrown in the wash to keep his mattress cleaner. This cover is PERFECT for that. It adds a decent size layer to the bed to add a bit of comfort and allow for airflow, but it's not a pillow top mattress topper. The best thing about it is that it has so much edging material/elastic that it fits REALLY WELL around the bottom of the mattress and is therefore very unlikely to come up during the night. This was a big bonus for me. My son also does think he sleeps a bit cooler with it on. If you're on the fence because of the reviews, don't be. This is a great mattress pad at a really good price.
