Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

After reading most of the reviews on this dubious product, I decided to give it a shot in lieu of what the negative product reviews had to say. First off, Yes; the majority of the complaints have some validity to them. Yes, it definitely has an odor... I'd imagine about the same as you might smell if you tried huffing a can of Great Stuff foam spray insulation; it's chemical, and it's bad. Yes, it comes shrink wrapped into a little ball, wrapped in a taped shut trash bag, and plopped into a shipping box that you will NEVER EVER get it back into after it's opened, which serves to better lock in the freshness of that putrid odor. Finally, yes, it is lumpy and warped when you open it due to it being shipped as a shrink wrapped ball. That being said, is it still worth purchasing? If you have a sensitive nose and no way to air this thing out for a few days before using it, then I'd suggest not. If you have a normal sense of smell, then go for it! I'd suggest not opening this thing and sleeping on it right away. My strategy with it was to open it in the morning so it would have a full day to air out and that seemed to work. The foam is very dense and it will take hours for the thing to slowly flatten out anyway, but eventually it will right itself. Put it in a room with a fan, open the windows, light a candle, dowse the thing with a bottle of Febreze Fabric Refresher. Despite its faults, it's still an amazing product. I'm a 190lb male and have always slept on my side. This topper offers superb support, and I've been greatly enjoying getting out of bed in the mornings WITHOUT feeling like someone has come into my room and billy-clubbed me in the kidneys. After having to replace a large appliance, I couldn't afford to replace a fairly new mattress too. Compared to alternatives, this is an extremely cost effective product that does its job very well.
