Not knowing which would be more effective in preventing bird strikes, I purchased the WindowAlert decals as well as the Droll Yankees Warning Web. I tried both on 2 sets of southwest facing windows in the front of my house that everything from songbirds to hawks were flying into. Now that I have had these decals and the web up for over a year, I've noticed that though spider web is an interesting concept, it does not work as well as the WindowAlert decals. My mom was concerned that people would see the WindowAlert decals while walking down the street, but you have to stare at the windows and look for the decals to actually see anything (see the attached photos from inside and outside my house). If you look closely when the sun is out, you can see how the UV light gives the decals a very light purplish tint, but it is hardly noticeable to the human eye. They are very easy to apply, but make sure that when you apply them that you start from the middle and work your way to the edges to prevent air bubbles. A credit card was also helpful to also smooth out the bubbles. I highly recommend these decals to anyone who wants to help stop birds from striking their windows and will definitely purchase more in the future!
