The power of a mower with the ease of a vacuum -- recommend corded version
After reading the mixed reviews, I was apprehensive about this purchase but am so glad I made it. I'm also very glad I decided on the CORDED version. After a recent move, I'm only responsible for taking care of my small, living-room sized back lawn. Rocky pavers in the side yard made lugging even my little push mower to the back a chore, and storage space in the garage is limited. Thus, on paper, this appeared to meet all my requirements: light enough to carry (rather than wheel) from garage to the back of the house, and very easy to store when broken apart. However, I've owned other B+D cordless products before (trimmer, leaf blower, hedge trimmer) and am familiar with their downsides: the batteries take a long time to charge, they have reasonable power for about 15 minutes and then slowly peter out, they need to be replaced about every two years, and forgetting to charge them is an all-too-convenient excuse to postpone yard work). So I decided to go with the less-popular corded version, and I'm very glad I did. It has about 2x to 3x the power of my B+D cordless trimmer, and of course, the power never dies out. In mower form, this product is incredibly easy to use and feels more like using a vacuum than a lawn mower. In fact, the similarities to a vacuum made it easy to keep the cord out of the way--hold the cord in one hand and push the mower with the other. The results were a low, even, professional mow that does not have the heavy wheel marks of a gas mower or the choppy quality of a push mower. Once detached from the trimmer, the mower deck can be washed off with a hose. The pieces are now hanging separately off hooks in my garage, taking up no floor space. Highly recommend.
