I purchased this movie because it is part of the totality of the Star Wars storyline, but I fricking hated it at the box office. It is literally the only Star Wars movie that I didn't see more than once at the theater. I'm so embarrassed for George Lucas and the original vision he gave the world. He once said "Hunger fuels creativity..." and I believe this movie proves his point completely. Kathleen Kennedy, Rian Johnson and Disney got paid no matter what... they are bloated with being over fed which gave them Delusions Of Grandeur and self-aggrandizing "twists" that KILL everything magical about Star Wars. I'm female and I never believed the fact that Luke was a male was limiting my options. I love that JJ Abrams created Rey and I didn't feel she was a "Mary Sue" character (sorry men who call the character that, but that IS sexist considering Anakin was born incredibly gifted too!) HOWEVER... Rian Johnson ruined a great opportunity to build her story. He turned her into a tool for Kylo Ren... Which is far better than what he did to Luke Skywalker. Had I wanted to watch "Grumpy Old Men" I would have stayed home and watched it. The only reason I gave this movie 2 stars instead of 1 is because I liked the romantic "telepathic" connection between Rey and Kylo Ren but that was a TOTAL RIPOFF of Joss Whedon's movie "In Your Eyes" ...but I'd rather see a ripoff of many other movies than see Luke Skywalker become a useless, disillusioned, cynic who refuses to train Rey. Some say "The Force Awakens" was a ripoff of the original Star Wars (aka "A New Hope") and also "The Phantom Menace" but thank you JJ Abrams because I love that movie! He knows how to make and sell people what they love! ...BRILLIANT!!! ...INSPIRED!!! ...CREATIVE!!! Unfortunately, I feel like "The Last Jedi" should actually be called "Didn't Care At All" because that is what they conveyed. Kathleen Kennedy are you really a Social Justice Warrior??? Hire a female director! I will never forgive Rian Johnson and I will never EVER go to a movie he is involved with again.
