This unit definitely does not cool at the 14,000 BTUs advertised. I recently moved into a house that does not have central AC. I bought 3 different units from different manufactures to see which I thought was the best. I bought the Della 14,000 BTU unit, a Black and Decker 10,000 BTU unit, and an 8,000 unit from Honeywell. The Black and Decker is by the best at cooling a large den. The Della and the Honeywell cool about equally which is disappointing as the Della is supposed to cool almost twice as well as the Honeywell. Very disappointed in this product and would not buy again.
