Poor Substitute
A little over a year ago, I ordered Pinzon Jersey Sheets from Amazon.com. These were the thickest, nicest jersey sheets I'd ever come across. I was only able to enjoy them for a short period of time however because someone stole them from my laundry room (but had failed to grab one of the pillow cases). Since I wanted to replace them I went back to Amazon, clicked on my previous orders selected the item and Amazon auto-rerouted me to the AmazonBasics Jersey Sheets. Given that the photos being used were the same ones as the Pinzon photos and the price was the same I just figured that Pinzon was tied to Amazon in some way and that the company had possibly been reorganized or something to that effect.
The sheets arrived in a timely manner (Amazon is really good at this) but I opened the package and was immediately hit with a chemical smell (which doesn't wash out FYI - I'm three washes deep now and the smell is still lingering). Since I had the original pillow case from the other sheet set I did a comparison and noticed the sheets themselves were about 1/2 the thickness as the Pinzon sheets. Even when comparing the tags you can see there's a drastic reduction in quality.
What happened Amazon? And what's with the false advertising?
