While utilizing the 34750 on our Jayco 5th Wheel at a well maintained RV resort, we had a loss of power. Upon inspection, I discovered the plug had melted at the RV site junction box. The damage was limited to the plug on the Surge Guard, which tripped as advertised prior to damage to the RV, as well as the plug in the junction box was melted. TRC would not honor their warranty stating the problem could not have been their product but faulty junction box plug at the resort. I then disassembled the unit and found the problem to be corroded connections within the surge guard itself. The corroded connections resulted in over current which lead to the failure noted. I again contacted TRC and was informed that since I broke the seal of the unit, it was no longer covered under warranty regardless of the fact that I am a certified electronic technician of over 30 years. Therefore, I would rate customer service as well as their manufacturing quality control unsatisfactory.
