★★☆☆☆
Seemingly good quality cables but the performance is sub-standard, but through well under 1 amp of power to my phone.
We use lightning cables for 4 iphones and 4 ipads in my house, and we travel frequently, so I buy plenty of lightning cables. I learned the best way to test them is with the use of a USB power meter that tells you the amperage flowing through the cable. The higher the amperage the faster the charge. I use a 2.1 amp apple charger for testing and the best cables will get me a bit over 2 amps. The bad: These cables ranged from 0.68 amps to 0.86 amps. While a longer cable will typically give lower amperage, and is the reason Apple keeps their longest cable to 2 meters rather than the 3 plus that these are, I've used 10 foot cables that pass as high as 1.65 amps. These cables are, at best, providing about half of that. Unfortunately, these cables (I did test all three and got similar results on all of them) perform well below what I view as acceptable. The good: These cables appear to be well made and strong. They are nylon braided, but the two bit pluses to me are (i) there is extra tubing at the ends of the cables, which is where my cables usually fail and (ii) the manufacturer has put their name on the end of the cable. The name means that they are not in fear of being identified as the manufacturer (I've got plenty of failed cables that were under warranty but I had no idea who the manufacturer was and no way to figure it out).
