450Mbps False Advertising is Misleading at best
TP-Link Customer support answered my question/complaint (chat session on their website) by stating the Specs show network speeds are NOT 450Mbps. Their descriptors over and over again refer to 450Mbps network speeds. But their WAN port is only 10/100. This company needs to take away their 450Mbps Speed advertising statements and Overview Statements because most people do not know about negotiating speeds versus network speeds. The speed listed is generally understood to be the Network Speed. TP-Link did not care what I said and TP-Link Customer Support stands by their false advertising. The max WiFi speed possible on 2.4GHz is only about 40Mbps. I was hoping the 450Mbps would at least work over the LAN ports. Not so. 90Mbps is the top speed. And sadly, using more than one LAN port often failed to work, at the same time. My goal was to use the LAN ports for streaming devices and use the slower wifi for my SmartHome (smart home devices do not need high speeds.) Okay, the specs show 10/100 max speeds for the LAN ports. But, I still think Stating 450Mbps Wireless Speed is false on the face of it. So, bottom line, from mpov: Only use this router if you only have ONE LAN Device (RJ45 ethernet cable) and wifi devices that of course only need slow WiFi. And your one LAN device will not be served with speeds higher than about 90Mpbs.
