Crass, lewd, and everything Austen was NOT
This felt like an HBO soap opera, complete with sordid sexual liaisons, flagrantly displayed. If you are going to use Austen's novels as your source material, then you must at least respect the dignity, charm and wit that she wrote with, and that caused so many to adore her stories. This tripe has not the slightest hint of her brilliance, and I think it's shameful they use her good name to peddle this filth.
To Austen lovers, steer clear unless you enjoy disappointment. This sow's ear of a mini-series will never pass for the silk purse it tries to be.
