I ordered this generator based on the positive reviews and expected the same experience. I noted that the unit was shipped just in a very broken down cardboard box and there was evidence of rough handling. I saw a few dents but based on other customer's experiences, this didn't concern me at the time. I had to wait for a contractor to install a manual switch on my home before I tried the generator out. I fired it up on propane and the tests were positive, until I powered down and took a close look at what I thought was at first condensation. It turned out to be oil. Not just a drop or two but a positive spray that soaked part of the engine and an area of my yard. Of course, I realized too late that I was five days past the return period (both Amazon and DuroMax carry only a 30 day warranty period). My advice is, "buyer beware". I'd recommend that you do not accept the generator if there is any evidence of mishandling. In my case I was a little too eager to have a generator on hand for backup. On closer inspection, I noticed a badly warped air filter and a couple of other bent frame components. I believe that a seal was broken in the engine sometime during shipment. I feel that these generators are just too big and heavy to ship in a flimsy cardboard box. If DuroMax or Amazon helps me with this, I will update my review accordingly.
