Update: I've used this 6 times. The button switch failed. Sometimes it won't cycle the flashlight modes for several clicks. You get what you pay for. It's solid and it feels nice, but the glass breaker does not have a cap, so it will eat through pants with the sharp point. That means I can't pocket carry it for edc, so it's pointless for me. If you don't care about one end being pointy all the time, maybe in your glove box in the car, or in a belt mounted holder, then it might be just right. The aluminum feels solid and tight, o-rings everywhere so it locks in tight. Flashlight is not bright but does the job. I can't speak to the longevity of the button switch. It cycles on/strobe/off. Its heavy because of the light, so im glad you can take it off to write. Wish it had a cap for the glass breaker so I could pocket carry this every day. I'll give it to a friend and keep looking for the right pen for me. This might be the pen for you though.
