Fairly accurate to the comic, except with obvious agendas forced upon the viewers.
If you want basically the same story, but without having feminist nonsense shoved down your throat or questionable musical choices then just go read the books, since they're already out you wont have to wait weeks to get the entire story unlike this BS they're pulling with multiple series' forcing you to watch them how they want you to.
We're adults, we can choose how we want to watch a show. I will never rate a series highly when the creators think they know how it's best for me to watch it, and I will especially never rate a series highly when the agendas they're trying to force on me are so heavy handed and obvious. There's also more than a few places where the animation is questionable at best (The throwing up scene in episode 1 is the most obvious one to come to mind)
It isn't terrible, but between the music, some of the voices (Cecil sounds like he's 25, he should clearly have a much more weathered and aged voice actor), the occasionally lazy animation, and the people putting it out determining what's best for me I'm not happy with it. I could already tell from the preview agenda pushing was going to be an issue, but I was hoping it would be a fleeting thing in the first episode.
For the record, strong women are awesome, Mark's mother (in the comics) is a great example of this and there are others in the series. But of course they had to go out of their way to turn Mark's first love interest (Who was a blonde white girl in the comics) into a 'stronk black womanz' to really nail home that feminist and racial agenda. And if your argument is 'what does it matter if they changed her race?' then what would it matter if they hadn't? If people started changing historically black characters to other races there would massive amounts of uproar, there's never an excuse to do it unless you're pushing an agenda onto people, if blacks or females want representation, then write some good black or female characters, don't appropriate ones that already exist for your nonsense race baiting.
Guaranteed this won't be the first 'agenda character' to be shoved down our throats, here's hoping it never gets as heavy handed as season 2 of The Boys, I won't be expecting much from the remainder of this season unless something seriously changes but I doubt it.
Do yourself a favor and go grab the first Invincible Omnibus, less political correctness and more story.
