Am I the only one who read through to the end? I’ve been reading Scarpetta novels since I smuggled them out of my mom’s bedroom as a teenager. I’ve always loved her characters and been captivated by her stories. I’ve been disappointed by the last few but never as much so as Autopsy. Several disjointed storylines, never previously mentioned bad girls/guys being responsible for every single crime with absolutely no reference? I read Karin Slaughter books as a guilty pleasure and they are beginning to replace Cornwell’s work because at least they’re realistic? I can’t begin to describe how disappointed I am as a longtime fan. Yes, there’s science in space. Whoopie! Everyone is still out to get Scarpetta the only difference is this time at appears the list includes the author. Like, so so so bad. Easily the worst Scarpetta novel; possibly the worst book I’v ever read. I made it to the end because I was betting Carrie Grethen would be blamed for everything. Otherwise maybe one chapter and I would have hung it up: Don’t buy; don’t read; don’t bother.
