I've used Weller 140 W soldering guns for years & they've worked great but I needed something bigger. When this arrived, I squeezed the trigger for the 260 W setting and was surprised at how long it took to get hot & melt solder. So, I got out my handy dandy AC clamp meter to measure the operating current & it was only drawing 1.2 A. I measured my line voltage at 117.3 VAc, so the gun was only producing 141 W. I tried the same test w/ the 200 W trigger position, and it only drew .8 A which yields 94 W. So, for both settings, the output is only about half of what it should be. So much for getting "something bigger". There is absolutely no excuse for a product this far out of whack getting shipped to a customer !!!!!! And then there's the "Duty Cycle" issue. No where in the ad does it state that you can only operate it for 1 min, and then it needs 4 min's of "rest". But there's a label on the soldering gun body w/ this info. So even if it did produce the correct amount of power, you can't even fully use it. What a waste - shame on you Weller.
