Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I got this for a crested gecko tank I was setting up, my first one I was taking off the hands of a friend who has 9 and was moving houses. I read the reviews and other then people being unhappy with the random branch they got of the reviews I saw it seemed like a mostly well received branch. I have had the branch in the tank for perhaps almost a week now and I noticed last nights as I went to bed a very sporey looking but of mold right at the edge of where my stick was touching the bottom of my tank. So immediately today I went out and got a whole bunch of stuff to try and remedy what I thought would be my error since this is my first reptile even though I'm very careful in research before getting a new pet. Upon pulling the branch out I realized the whole bottom of the branch that touched the coconut husk substrate was covered in white green and yellow mold and even had some black sporey looking items. Of course I immediately freaked out and contacted my friend and removed the gecko and cleaned the F out of the tank, which lead to more in depth look at older reviews of the branch. There I saw a lot more people saying it was a great branch for drier climate reptiles as it constantly molded horribly in their crested gecko tank or other humid living reptile habitats. One review even claims it is made of grape wood? Which during research I learnt was something not meant for humid terrariums. There was probably still some blame to place with me, I think perhaps also my coconut husk was a smidge but too moist but upon reading a lot of these reviews I've come to the conclusion the branch really wasn't doing me any favors either I was lucky and actually got a really nice looking stick and I'm disappointed to not be able to use it in the tank I plan to incorporate it into decoration in the area I keep the terrarium though. I hope some newer reviews pop up to the top of the review list that express the fact that these branches are not really the best thing if your tank is humid so more people don't make the same mistake.
