This was the second Lohanu ukulele I have purchased; I also have a concert sized Lohanu ukulele I purchased in November of 2016. I decided to buy a second ukulele and, after having no complaints with my first Lohanu uke, I settled on this tenor. I planned to replace the g string on this tenor with a low g string, so I purchased this ukulele along with the low g aquila string in October--it arrived October 5, 2017. I immediately noticed that this ukulele seemed to be of lesser quality than the concert use and it also seemed to have a funny sound to it. I took the tenor uke to a local music shop to ask about having the low g string installed. When I showed the ukulele to the guy, he looked it over and assumed it was a used ukulele due to the condition. I had noticed a few rough patches on the surface of the ukulele which felt like sand paper, I wasn't too worried about it but this guy was absolutely shocked that a new ukulele arrived in such a condition. Then he showed me where the bridge of the ukulele was clearly not aligned correctly, as you could see gaps between the bridge and the surface of the ukulele. I asked about simply replacing the bridge and he said it could cost as much as $100. Out of curiosity, I ran out and grabbed my concert sized Lohanu ukulele, which I've had for 10 months, and this ukulele's bridge was also separated from the surface of the ukulele but not nearly as badly as on the new tenor ukulele. After strumming on a few of the ukuleles in their store, I realized that my concert ukulele is also putting off an odd sound, just not as badly as the newer tenor Lohanu ukulele. I am extremely surprised and disappointed to learn the two Lohanu ukuleles I purchased, the first two stringed instruments I've ever owned, are not the affordable, quality instruments I had initially thought. The difference in quality between the concert and the tenor makes me think that the consistency of the quality of each Lohanu ukulele varies greatly. I hope Lohanu can do something to change my mind about the quality of their products.
