My supposed 100% cotton 108”x90” king size blanket in taupe just arrived a couple hours ago. With the warmer weather here I was eager to get it on our bed. I took it out of the package and noticed a slight smell, but more like plastic packaging smell and I was going to wash it anyway, so it didn’t matter to me. When I pulled it out I thought it seemed smaller than king size, so I checked the package and it said king. So assumed since it’s so thin and light weight that perhaps that’s why it seemed a bit smaller than I was anticipating. I washed in cold and dried on cool just like directions - I thought whatever helps this blanket not shrink much.. I checked half way and there was just a tiny bit of dryer lint, I was expecting to have to change frequently during its drying cycle as I head reviews about 100% blankets producing quite a bit. Then at the end I checked again and there was barely anything there. I was shocked, but very happy, maybe it didn’t shrink! So I proceed to put it on my bed and the tag catches my eye. - it says 100% polyester!!!! I am not happy because I wanted and ordered a blanket that claimed to be 100% cotton and received 100% polyester. I continued putting it on my bed thinking maybe I will be pleasantly surprised by this blanket and like it despite not being what I ordered.. when I notice that it is indeed quite a bit smaller than it should be. So I measure it. This 108x90 king size blanket is 95x90. I don’t understand how this is possible. If it’s 100% cotton and mislabeled polyester it would of shrink in width and length.. not just width and probably not 13” ! And if it’s 100% polyester and was actually 108x90 to start it shouldn’t of shrink any (polyester doesn’t shrink) so I think I received a polyester blanket that is 13” shorter in width than the description says. Needless to say- I’m not happy with this purchase at all. If you don’t care about polyester vs cotton, I would say the color is what I expected for taupe and it is very lightweight.
