I bought fryer to mainly use for fresh seafood, I used a wet batter and the instructions specified that the food not be placed in the basket until the basket is submerged in the oil, I did this and everything stuck to the basket and the food had to be scraped off from the basket, this happened twice. It appears that this unit is for frying frozen food only and should not be considered for anything else. I would not recommend this appliance to anyone.
