Conspiracy Theories From The Far, Far Left
The author had a decent plot line going, but seemed to be more intent on making a political statement than writing a good book. 25% into the story, Republicans are referred to as moronic, immature, sadistic, mob of vandals and the worst juvenile delinquents. Mainstream Republicans are referred to a "a rampaging horde of medieval barbarians" while Tea Partiers were called "bomb-throwing anarchists. I think, okay, maybe some back and forth between parties might be interesting, but there was no back and forth. It was all one sided. To accept some of the "action" in the book requires that you extinquish all common sense of reality. At 80% a secret service character referenced the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan and gave reasons why it was George H W Bush who should have been charged with attempted murder. Really? I stopped here and decided to not read any more of this author's lunacy. It wouldn't surprise me if in the last 20% of the book, George W Bush would be charged with bringing down the Twin Towers. Novels are suppose to entertain. If you want to make a political statement, don't call it a novel "thriller".
