Bring a pipe, you will need it.
This is not your fathers Master lock.
I purchased this lock in 2015 and used sparingly when towing the utility trailer, boat and snowmobile.
I liked the idea of a weatherproof cover and always kept that on, but after towing one afternoon the key would not insert in the lock. The first tumbler was locked up, I used WD-40 to no avail. Then I tried inserting the key and hitting it with a hammer, but the key is stamped out of a really soft metal, and bent easily.
At that point I was really frustrated and was going to cut it off. I could not get a good angle on it with the saws-all where I would feel comfortable about not damaging the vehicles bumper. I took a step back and looked at the problem again, and I grabbed a short length of chain link fence post and inserted that over the lock, pulled, and in 2 seconds with surprisingly little force that thing snapped like a twig.
Granted I see locks as preventing a crime of opportunity, and realize a professional thief has the tools to take whatever they want, but the ease of snapping this was disturbing to say the least.
With all the 'generic' products out there, I usually pass on them and buy name brand. But this experience has lost my trust in the Master lock brand.
