This product has one purpose, give an accurate temperature. I got this one so I wouldn't have to put my eventually sick baby/child when a possible fever existed. Being a physician, we use the under the tongue or in the ear thermometers on patients. I took this Easy@Home infrared thermometer to work to test on patients. I can say that on patients with normal temperature, this was relatively accurate (at least accurate enough), but on patients with a confirmed fever, this thermometer was horribly inaccurate. No way would I use this on my child or any other family member. This little test at work is about as objective as I can get with the data.
