We had high hopes for the Fresh Patch, but unfortunately, it caused more problems than it solved. The concept is sound, but all 3 patches we received were filled with ticks. We have a new puppy without all of his shots, so he hasn't been allowed outside to go potty, meaning that the patch is the only place he might have picked them up. We thought the first one may have been a fluke, so we gave Fresh Patch the benefit of the doubt and reordered. When the second patch arrived, we were shocked to find that another patch had brought ticks into our home and attached themselves to our new dog, ultimately leading him to an expensive emergency vet visit where he had to receive multiple vaccinations and a full bag of subcutaneous fluids. We contacted Fresh Patch, who was very responsive to the problem. They told us that there was no way the ticks had originated at their facilities, but that it was possible that they migrated in during their time with FedEx. Either way, this is unacceptable. They refunded the most recent patch that we had purchased and even sent us a replacement -- complete with ticks. This is a really great idea and our puppy does love to go to his patch, but having multiple encounters with ticks just isn't worth it. This is the first Amazon review I've written, and I hate for it to be a negative one, but as a new puppy owner I would hate more for anyone else to have to deal with the stress that this has caused us and our dog.
