I bought this for a 60AH-70AH per day application. Being that it is rated at 170AH at 20hr and knowing that you never get the full AH rating on any battery, I was sure I would have enough power during the night to run my Dometic 95cfx chest fridge/freezer, NOPE! The fridge will cut its own power when it detects the battery at 40% to save the battery, which that has done so with this 170Ah lithium battery as well as previous SLA and GEL batteries I have used. I went to sleep one night last week around 10pm with 77% battery life, with only the fridge on and woke up at 4am to my charge controller completely off no lights at all. The next morning in full sun the charge controller shows an E1 error (over-discharged), and it will no longer accept a charge. I contacted Renogy customer service, it took 2 days to hear back from anyone. After telling them all the possible things that would run during a 24hr period and over estimating the AH that each appliance/electrical device would need, we figured I'm using about 65AH per 24hrs. I confirmed with them that the battery will cut power when at 10% to protect it from over-discharge damage. The BMS, after talking with Renogy, should have cut off the battery at 10% to protect it from over-discharge, which obviously never happened. Now I have to ship the battery back to Renogy and if they test it and find it's damaged I'm out $1500, or if they can repair it I have to pay for return shipping to get it back. I also HAD to buy one of their charge controllers in order to use this battery, so they got me for another $170. I'm really disappointed in the quality of the battery when considering how many usable AH it has and how fragile it seems to be. I would never recommend anyone buying this for a house RV battery, might be ok as a backup battery but never a primary battery in whatever solar application you have. ALSO, I tried leaving a review on Renogy's website TWICE and neither are showing up! If you read their reviews they are all 5 star, which seems like they are "padding" their reviews by only allowing the good ones to show on their site. I feel they are DISHONEST and their product is SUBSTANDARD, pretty much it's crap! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! STICK TO GEL OR WAIT FOR THEM TO RELEASE gen 2 or maybe gen 10 as this battery needs A LOT more R&D. Pat on the corporate back for using your customers as testers for your crap products!!!
