I have successfully used preservative free petroleum and mineral oil nightime drye eye ointment many times in the past. Just not this brand and apparently not with lanolin alcohols. The box, as well as the Amazon website, clearly states lanolin alcohols as an inactive ingredient and I did not think it would be a problem. I was wrong. The first, and only time, I used it, my eyes turned bright red, started burning and felt numb-like. I spent hours trying to neutralize it which was very disturbing as it was the middle of the night in the middle of a pandemic and the last place I wanted to go was the ER. I hope this helps anyone who might be sensitive to drugs, creams, cosmetics, soaps, etc.
