★★☆☆☆
This has to be the most over rated book I've ever read.
Unlike nearly every reviewer for this book, I did not find this book enlightening, eye opening, or even particularly good. 95% of the book is a story about how awful his childhood was, which is unfortunate for him, but he never seems to get past this narrative into real causes or solutions. When he does try to explain why his childhood was bad, he simply blames his "heritage", which he then wraps around himself like a flag. Any solutions proposed, he immediately dismisses as socialist schemes to take away his people's freedom. The one thing I picked up from this book is that the world changes, but his people haven't, and that's why they're suffering, which the author himself seems to have completely missed.
