I see you. I know what you're thinking. These are pretty, they come in a neat little case and it's cool that they have heated clips! Conair hasn't really let you down before, and it's so affordable. What could go wrong? Lots. Lots will go wrong. For starters, you're going to want to get ready to go out and you probably don't have two hours to dedicate to your hair alone. But curling your hair hasn't ever been that long of a process, right? Well it is now. You normally put them in your hair and continue getting ready- the curlers do all the work for you! But no. With these things, you will be afraid to move your head because they'll fall out. The clips- those cool heated clips!- don't fit the curlers. They aren't sized! So the big ones will barely stay in the clip and the small ones will dangle (kinda painfully) from your head while the clip slowly slips out with any little movement. This means you're gonna continuously have to fix them, and since they take so long to set your hair, you'll find yourself reheating them as they fall out just so that you can get your hair to set properly. You're going to reach for another curler from the case and one is going to fall out of your hair, and when you look up to see what just happened on your head, you'll touch that little rail that heats them and you'll yell some profanity and your husband will walk in to see what's wrong and see your hair in a lopsided rats nest and he will do that thing where he sighs and slumps his shoulders because he knows you won't be ready anytime soon. Then, when you finally get them situated on your head with your own hair clips and maybe some bobby pins and some pins from another set of curlers that you haphazardly stuck in your hair to make it stay still, and you do your makeup as best you can without moving your head at all... you decide to check to see if it's done. It's not. You perfect that smokey eye from that one tutorial you saw on pinterest. Still not done. You organize your makeup alphabetically. They're cold by this point, but your hair isn't set. You take them out carefully anyway, only to find that your hair is just an awkward amount of wavy for the most part. Then, to your surprise, you find that one did set. One curler worked. It's in the back of your head, and it's the stiffest thing you've ever seen. And it's time to leave. You put your horrible hair into a ponytail and only cry on the inside because, well, you did do a good job on that eyeliner. There's good stuff out there. This is not that stuff.
