Caveat Emptor - buyer beware of cheap, foriegn made batteries
As an Electrical Engineer by education and a contractor by profession, I rely on good, consistent and durable batteries for the portable power tools that I put in the field. I have roughly 60 or so Ryobi 18v battery operated tools currently in use and over a hundred assorted batteries that my 6 3-man crews.. Up until now, I have ALWAYS stuck with the Ryobi branded batteries, despite the cost, simply because I thought that they were better than a 'generic' replacement. I decided to take a chance on this battery and boy was I right in sticking with Ryobi branded batteries. This battery did not make it through one use and charge before breaking. I am NOT kidding, not even one use before it crapped out. I received the battery and the first thing I did was to put it on a P135 6-position charger. When it was fully charged and I had a Green light, I placed the battery in a Ryobi Reciprocating Saw and tested it by cutting a pine 4X4. Half way through the cut the saw just quit. I took the battery and placed it back on the charger and it would not take a charge. Tried it in another charger, this time a P117 and the same result, would not charge. Simply put, the battery is BAD.
Worst part? I contacted the seller twice and never got a response. That is really upsetting to me and I will not accept that ever. If you sell me something and it is bad, then take responsibility for it and make it right. Don't dodge me. That, gentlemen, is all I have for ya. Stick with a known, reliable brand when buying lithium ion batteries. I would give only 1 star, but the battery, after all did fit, some don't even do that...so I gave it 2 stars. Doesn't matter, the thing doesn't work.
