We replaced a very old bose system with this due to cost. We found it difficult to find acceptable alternatives to that stereo... So we gave this a shot. For the price...It's just ok. This stereo is quite literally old volkswagen stereos mounted in a box with speakers. In fact the thing has some weird functionality issues that the company makes you aware of due to it being a car stereo. The sound quality is good, the functionality isn't bad...but it does behave like a car stereo. If you can look past thee issues and the fact that it's a bit pricey for what it is, you won't be disappointed. All in all it's not bad. UPDATE: After using this thing for a few months, we've found that despite the instructions to not turn off the unit with the physical power button in order to use the controller to power, the controller still remains very inconsistent in its ability to turn the device on. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Additionally the bluetooth functionality is poor at best. Good luck getting this thing to consistently connect to any of your music players via bluetooth. Again, sometimes it will sometimes it won't and you'll have to run through the setup menu again just to get your phone, for instance, to connect. Lastly, once you get your device to connect via bluetooth, good luck getting the sound to even come through. We found that the 75% of the time when we connect the device and the player is playing music but the stereo has no sound, we have to use the controller to mute the stereo a few times and then most of the time it will start working. For over $200 this stereo is NOT EVEN CLOSE TO WORTH IT for nothing more than an old VW stereo in an enclosure with some sub par speakers. If I'd paid $75 for this thing i wouldn't be complaining at all...but over $200.....I'm kicking myself now. Huge rip off. UPDATE 2: Went to find the KEiid website to see who to contact for customer service or to find a firmware update for this expensive used VW stereo, and nothing. They have nothing....this is yet another Chinese fly by night seller that Amazon continues to allow to sell garbage on their site. I've lost so much confidence ordering on Amazon because they continue to allow these types of unverified sellers to sell garbage on their site.
