Absolute Torture to Read
Just for starters when I read a non-fiction book I go to the photos. This book, no photos. I made it to page 58 and then decided life is to short to go through this. To start she waxes poetic about her idyllic childhood.
She constantly asks her readers to imagine their six year old self. Many women have had dark childhoods and don’t want to go there. She condescends readers by addressing women who have let their selves go. As a Houston resident I have been a fan of her on KPRC2. I have been a fan of her YouTube channel, love her hair and makeup tutorials. I was also a fan of her personal life, love videos featuring her husband and house and I am truly sorry to see a marriage end. Lately her channel has been book promotion and the book is channel promotion. As a loyal subscriber of her YouTube channel, I expected more from the book. After page 58 I looked ahead and saw more of the same. Maybe you are a confident woman perhaps a professional and perhaps your childhood isn’t something you want to revisit. This book is not for you. Dominique sounds so vapid and out of touch.
