I "upgraded" to the L810 from the prior model and am not overly happy with that. Pros ---- * the zoom is amazing * the picture resolution is great as well. Cons ---- * the lag time taking a picture, especially when inside or in lower light areas, is absolutely not acceptable and reminds me of cameras I used 10 years ago. * saving an image (to a Class 10 SD card), takes way too long. * the lack of a manual focus makes it really painful as it constantly adjusts and the chance of getting out of focus pictures is pretty good. * the focus problem is the same (actually way worse...) when taking videos. I filmed at my daughters graduation and 90% of the video is out of focus. Despite setting the camera to "continuous auto focus" mode. * the USB connector cable is yet another "standard" size that nobody is using and that nobody has cables for. There is ZERO value in not staying with the established cable concepts besides them selling a few cables... bottom line ----------- Try to borrow one before you buy it and check if the above mentioned issues bother you (as much as they bother me...). If not, it is a nice camera, not too heavy with some decent features. It even makes nice pictures if they are in focus. I personally would not buy it again.
