Tolkien would be ashamed of this show. This is just bad. Adaptations can be good. Some changes can be good. Doing them faithfully and tastefully is the key. This show does not do that. It is poorly written fanfic with bad choices made at nearly every turn. The CGI is meh, the story is a joke, the costumes are bad, the castings even worse and the overall aesthetic is cheap and disappointing. There's no magic to this show and it has no soul. It's just cheap, flashy and made to please the lowest common denominator. It's an Amazon Basics product that somehow cost a billion dollars.
