I only bought this because it said the inner liner was water proof. Water proof means water does not penetrate at all, as opposed to water resistant which means water will still enter but not all of it. Product clearly states inner liner is waterproof. I have purchased two of these beds. My 19 year old dachshund is having issues peeing herself and when she peed this bed it went through the top cover, through the line is, and into the memory foam. This isn't supposed to happen if it's waterproof! Now before the company says it's user error, this bed comes with two liners. One is supposed to be water proof. The other water resistant (backup if you are cleaning the main liner). Neither liner is water proof. I still have both both are well cared for. No tears. Never put inner liner in washer or dryer or did damage to it. It simply is not water proof. Now I am stuck with two expensive dog beds that will be ruined when my elderly dog inevitably has an accident. In fact they are already ruined (see photos). Buyer beware, while the outer cover is easy to clean when it comes to dirt and hair, these are not waterproof at all. So if you are spending more for the waterproof feature, don't waste your money.
