Good Bye Murdoch
In the earlier seasons Murdoch Mysteries was a tremendous series - cleverly written with great characters, but without the political correctness, foul language and smut which seems to permeate American broadcast and cable television. It has been a bit of an embarrassment that such high quality, entertaining programming was coming out of Canada rather than the US
Unfortunately the series started going downhill in Season 12 as the producers seemed compelled to certify their liberal bona fides with several scripts force feeding viewers progressive ideology and blatant negative analogies to America under President Trump
Season 13 has continued this disappointing trend as the great character Detective Watts seemed to have been written out and Murdoch increases the “diversity” of Station House 4 by creating a “Special Constable” position for a black Pinkerton’s agent who had suffered discrimination in his previous job in America
Reading the preview for Episode 5 - “When Crabtree and Special Constable Parker break up a party for gay men…” - we were fed up enough to decide to skip the Episode. Now, thanks to VK’s review, we learn that the purpose of the script is to reintroduce Watts as a homosexual
Enough is enough, so it’s Goodbye Murdoch and we have canceled our Acorn subscription. We can get this kind of boring, preachy garbage in plenty of places for free, so why fund it?
