I was hoping to control this unit with my Google Home so that it could automatically turn on as part of my "bedtime" routine, but apparently that is impossible: when you unplug/cut power to the device, it will remain off when power is restored until you physically press the "on" button on the device. This means it's not possible to enable the fan from a smart controller (Google Assistant/Alexa) nor a wall switch. I could've potentially coped with that issue, except that (a) the physical buttons are tiny, awkwardly located, and impossible to distinguish, and (b) the fan didn't seem suitably impressive to justify the effort. I would not recommend this unit unless you intend to keep it running 24/7, it's just too much of an annoyance having to switch it on each time. Would be easier to get a regular fan or two and link them to wall switch or smart controller.
