My family has had Faberware percolators for many years, both the large and small models. I bought a small 4 cup model for my Dad less than two years ago. He uses it once a day in the morning. He is meticulous about caring for it (as well as everything else). Yesterday I noticed a dull area in the base plastic as well as a small hole in the material. The hole exposed some interior metal piece. I told my Dad to stop using the coffee pot immediately as I was concerned about a serious burn or even an electrical shock. I don't know if the Warranty information posted on the Amazon website is valid (it appears to apply to cooking and baking items) but I will be returning the pot to the address contained in that information.
