There is so much in here that is very problematic that I will not be reading any more of this series. 1-Tia, the main character is sexual assaulted in the first scene, and continually threatened with sexual assault. And even after all her training, when traveling she thinks her mentor is about to rape her, and she does not even consider fighting back. 2-The only women we meet are (or have been) slaves. We do not meet any other women. The plot and timing is a whole different problem. Months seem to sneak past will little indication. The party travels to the city to give a report on disturbing massacres in the woods, and next thing you know, there's a major battle in the city, and then the whole war is over in a flash.
