I wanted a second 2-piece set to go with our Travel Select set we got 12 years ago (which has held up quite well, car and plane travel). I read the reviews about the handle breaking on this but decided it may be a fluke and I could get lucky for $40. Well, low and behold, the handle on this, while not broken, is poised to do so due to poor design. Please see video - I hope it's helpful. Essentially, the handle elements on either side of the sliding bar do not slide out at the same time. You have to manually pull the lagging side up to meet the locking push pin. In addition, this is way lighter in weight than our previous set and the material way thinner. The smaller bag, while the same height and length, is much shorter depth-wise. I can tell that this set probably would not hold up for one trip, let alone 12 years worth, so back it goes. After seeing this in person, I went back to look at the Travel Select 2-piece set. The only reason I didn't go with it in the first place, was shipping time. However, zooming in on the photos and reading the reviews for it (which are identical) I'm not sure it's the same quality they had 12 years ago. So, I may be spending a bit more money for something that's hopefully made better - but who knows what that is? We've become such a culture of quick, cheap and expendable that nothing is made well anymore.
