Natural components? DUPPED! Does contain synthetics!
UPDATE 1/28/19: Reduced 4 to 2 stars. Here's why: My initial review was 4 stars because I believed they contained ALL "natural components". After further research I realized that this is greenwashing and the scrubbing side actually contains synthetics and not made entirely of coconut fibers. Very disappointed in this. I thought I could compost this entire sponge, but I can't. I have bought another type instead now for the future. I will say that the sponge is decent and holds up pretty well... I just wish it was more honest in the packaging (which is also malleable plastic, which canNOT be recycled either). PS: if you throw it in the garbage even if this WAS ALL natural, it still wouldn't decompose. People need to understand how landfills work (or rather do not work on organic matter)! After speaking with 3M directly about their SCRUBBING sponges, they have said that that the SPONGE portion is natural made from cellulose and paper. The SCRUBBER part is 50% agave AND 50% NYLON/POLYESTER. You cannot compost these sponges 'as is' nor the one that is just the scrubber. If you can separate the scrubber from the sponge (and I have tried and failed), you can compost the sponge portion and landfill to never break down the scrubber part.
