Cutters that don't cut, they bludegon
Not sure how a product this simple could be defective but we have six rescue dogs and these trimmers do not cut they smash, and then make an audible click noise. Apparently the blades were not sharpened properly as they would not cut cleanly through the dog's nails. I believe the clicking noise resulted from: dull blade(s), increased resistance, greater finish-force when blades "cut" and closed together.
Too bad because a few of the dogs are somewhat impatient and do not look forward to the bi-weekly (every two-weeks) trims so I must proceed at a good pace in order to finish before their will overcomes mine. And if you trim regularly you know that "Unreasonable haste is the direct road to error" (Moliere) meaning quick begets quick: The faster you go the more likely you are to cut into the quick. Not pleasant for the pooch--or the assailant (me). Cut into quick and blood will flow. Now you have to stem the tide with a styptic powder which just adds insult to injury: I assume the pup feels similar pain as I would had I nicked myself shaving and applied a styptic pencil. It stings. So take your time and avoid the quick (see photo)
So I sent them back and purchased a trimmer that did not have the word "professional" in its description and the result is: A clean cut. and happy hound.
