The seller and/or manufacture failed to disclosed that the SPDIF OPTICAL PORTS ONLY SUPPORT 2 STEREO CHANNELS AND WOULD NOT SUPPORT 5.1 OR 7.1 SURROUND SOUND. I spent time testing the SPDIF ports with no sound outputs and found out by reading the User Manual. When I read the User Manual, this lack of OPTICAL SURROUND feature is printed on the 4th page as quoted below: "Note: The S/PDIF optical pass-through port on the audio adapter supports two-channel audio, but does not support 5.1 or 7.1 audio." I wish this information is disclosed on this website so we don't have to to through the hassle testing and returning. Returning was easy and simple. Thanks Amazon.
