I am an avid fantasy and science fiction reader. I read the first three out of sheer stubbornness, hoping the author would pull the plot together. I wish I had not stuck with it. The characters are flat and immature and the dialog is painful. The book tries to do too much without taking the time to flesh out characters and develop meaningful narrative. I felt as though I was being rushed from plot twist to plot twist without being offered the time to care.
