Always check the calories on emergency food servings
When I first started buying emergency supplies, I naively went with whatever companies said was a serving for a meal. This bucket contains 13,400 calories or an average 223 calories per serving. 223 calories, three times a day would give you 669 calories for the whole day. According to USDA dietary guidelines, a not-active adult needs about 1800-2000 calories. Add stress and trying to survive, and it is more like 2200-2400 calories. Strict diets for women talk of 1200 calories per day, and this would be half that. You can double or triple up on these servings, but the stated number of meals is ridiculous.
