No plot, no depth to characters, not worth the hour of my life I spent to read this
I've read some really terrible books but this is definitely one of the WORST! The first chapter was iffy- broken hearted girl tells a good looking stranger that she's alone on the island for work (kind of a no-no, this is how kidnapping happens) then she gives him her address so he can drive her home... Yes. I'm serious. And the creep factor increases until chapter 3 or 4 when suddenly, 24 hours into their new friendship, they're in love. Then it just plummets into a sloppy plot- boy and girl have awesome sex over and over again, a few variables are thrown in to make the guy look not so perfect, girl gets confused but boy convinces her he's worth it by saying NOTHING but instead "shows" her how he feels, book ends. This book was free when I downloaded it, thank goodness, however the hour of my life it took me to read the first few chapters then skim the rest of the book is something I wish I could have back. The plot is awful- the climax, I assume, is the dinner party near the end of the book. On top of that, the whole story takes place in a matter of days. The characters do not develop at all and half the book is about sex- the unbelievable kind that only women who have never had an orgasm could believe... I wish the publisher had said no to this book for the authors sake- a slightly better book might have made me wait to give a review until after I'd read her other work. Its unfortunate that stuff like this gets published, giving romance novels/chick lit a bad name.
