I'll share some pros and cons here, but the cons clearly outweigh the pros if you're hoping to use this in a bedroom, or if you expect it to last. Pros: 1) It is actually quieter than other models. If you switch from fan mode to cool, it is not significantly louder when it turns on the compressor. This is what I wanted it for. 2) The control pad and remote are very nice and easy to use. Cons: 1) When it reaches set temp, it turns off the fan, so it goes totally silent. Most models cycle the compressor on and off while keeping the fan on. You can't do that with this one. Even as quiet as it is, this makes it too disturbing when it turns on and off. This is a fatal flaw. 2) It has a filter to protect the cooling fins on the interior airflow path, but has no filter on the air path going to the exhaust host. I am certain that dust will clog up the fine radiator fins in the lower section because there is no filter there. All other models I've seen have filters there. This is a fatal flaw. With two fatal flaws, I strongly urge you not to buy this. It gets two stars only because it does actually work as advertised and is a functional air conditioner.
