This was promptly returned. The idea of removable plates is fantastic but it has to be developed correctly. With that said, the areas where the plates clip in can not be an area where batter can make its way. That is one of the biggest flaws with this machine. Any oozing of batter goes right into the clip areas of the removable plates. This area is not accessible from any point so the batter sits in there and can breed mold! In addition, there is a design flaw regarding the elements because of the removable plates. If one were to take of one of the plates, one would immediately notice that the elements miss a very large portion of the waffle. We noticed this because the waffles weren't cooking in the front 25% of the waffle!
