★★☆☆☆
The King is Dead.
I purchased my copy in a brick and mortar as soon as it went on the shelf. I have finished all original content and went through a majority of the interviews- which are the same ones replayed time after time (and available on YouTube).
Chances are if you see a 5 star review, it’s from the PR company or a new-age/soccer mom fan. The bulk of this is Interview transcripts. And if you believe “he’s the best interviewer ever”, then you need to leave the rock you live under. 15-20 years ago definitely. Now it’s the same softball questions, he interrupts, avoids any controversial topic and kisses the subjects butt. It’s quite sad. This book only proves the rumor that THSS died after Artie. i wasn't expecting a Private Parts 2, but I was hoping for more insight into the show, the changes and some show related rambling - even some honest feedback on the interviewees. Instead he goes to great length to kiss more Hollywood butt.
At this point, I’ve read every THSS book (excluding Lisa G for the obvious reasons). This would be my least favorite. For good THSS related writing check out Gary's book.
