Update: Several days after writing my 5 star review below, my Wonder Lint remover motor started malfunctioning. As other reviewers have complained, the motor became erratic with the device cutting off and on, and sounded as if it was straining to keep the blades rotating. If I held the device in a certain direction it would work, but then if I barely moved it in another direction it cut off. I returned it for a refund. Very disappointed because it really did a great job of removing pills while it was still working. Old review: The large head is perfect for depilling large areas, such as a whole shirt. Pilling can cast a grayish tint to clothing and make it look older. Using this on my husband's flannel shirts that he wears to work greatly improves the look of the shirt. Colors are so much brighter when the pills are removed. Black pants that have dulled because of pills actually look black again! I use this frequently, so having the electric plug in option is better for me than using it with batteries. It does a very good job of removing pills. As with all pill removers, I still have to be careful when using it on knitted or polyester garments, and around ribbed edges on sweatshirts (neck, cuffs, and bottom band). To reduce the chance of catching fabric, it's best to use it with the item on an even, flat surface. I've found the ironing board to work well for this. This is where the long cord is nice.
